8.26.17pm GMT Sun 10th Feb 2008

• NEW Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) for the borough were given the go-ahead this week.

In a Cabinet Member decision, Cllr David Trigg approved plans to introduce new zones in Teddington and Mortlake. In Teddington, approval was given for a two hour zone, 8.30am to 10.30am, Monday to Friday, in an area around Teddington Station. In Mortlake approval was also given for a two hour zone, 9am to 11am, Monday to Friday, in a number of roads north of the railway line between Barnes Bridge and Sheen Lane.

Cllr Trigg, Richmond Council's Cabinet Member for Traffic, Transport and Parking, said this week: "These decisions have been reached after careful consideration and taking into account all views expressed. The whole aim is to improve parking conditions for residents, their visitors and local businesses. This is our paramount concern. We expect the new zones for Mortlake and Teddington to come into effect in the spring."
