Commenting on tonight's documentary about Royal Mail, Simon Hughes MP, Liberal Democrat London spokesman and mayoral candidate, said: "I have been a life long supporter of the Royal Mail, but tonight's television documentary sadly confirms a widespread bad experience."

"Postal services in parts of London are far short of what people in businesses need and expect."

"Royal Mail must now be on notice."

"The survival of the postal service depends on Mr Crozier and his colleagues getting their act together very soon."
