Jarvis Selling Tube Lines Stake Sucks Lifeblood Out Of The Tube - Hughes10.54.52am GMT Thu 18th Mar 2004 Commenting on the decision of Jarvis to sell half it's stake in Tube maintenance company Tube Lines to help solve it's cash crisis just days after negotiating a refinancing deal with TfL, Liberal Democrat London Mayoral candidate, Simon Hughes, said: "This decision will cause further instability in the PPP of the Tube. With the Tube infrastructure crumbling, it is depressing to see the firm run by the Conservative Mayoral candidate causing so many problems for London's hard pressed commuters." "Once again, there is an obvious and direct conflict of interest when Mr Norris is a candidate for London Mayor and Chief Executive of Jarvis. Mr Norris cannot make any objective comments on any transport issues when his company is sucking the lifeblood out of the Tube."
