MP Fights For Friars Stile Road Post Office

On Monday October 3rd, Jenny Tonge MP sent off hundreds of signatures she has collected in a bid to try to save the Post Office in Friars Stile Road.

Jenny Tonge MP said; "The Post Office on Friars Stile Road is a vital community resource. Many local people have written to me expressing dismay that the Post Office could close. For the elderly and less mobile, the thought of having to negotiate the steep walk into town and back is appalling."

"Local businesses have also expressed their concern to me. They have told me that the standard of service in the Friars Stile Post Office is excellent, and if it closes they stand to lose thousands of pounds a year. I am dismayed that the Post Office Group could even consider closing th e branch at Friars Stile Road, and I can assure local residents that I will continue to campaign against these plans."
