Jenny Tonge, Liberal Democrat MP for Richmond Park, has reacted with delight to the news that Kew Gardens has been named as a World Heritage Site.

The MP said: "I have been associated with this application since the beginning and I am so pleased it has succeeded. Kew is one of the most famous places on earth and I am so lucky to live close by.

"I am thrilled to be the MP for a constituency that contains a World Heritage Site!"
