SAINSBURY'S: CAN WE HAVE A COFFEE SHOP?

12.00.00am GMT Tue 14th Jan 2003

Dr Jenny Tonge, MP for Richmond Park, says Sainsbury's should take the opportunity of their proposed re-development of the Manor Road site to add a much-needed coffee shop to their store.

The MP said: "I welcome the increased provision of affordable housing in the constituency that this development will bring."

"However, in my pre-Christmas visits to Day Centres, there's one thing my older constituents tell me they want more than anything else at Sainsbury's and that's a coffee shop!

"They want somewhere to rest and have a hot drink between doing their shopping and catching the bus home. I hope Sainsbury's will give this serious consideration."
