Macmillan Nurses Victim of Congestion Charge12.00.00am GMT Wed 11th Dec 2002 MP Vincent Cable has asked the Mayor of London why Macmillan nurses are being required to pay the new congestion charge when District Nurses are not: "This is the kind of arbitrary, silly, discriminatory measure which will bring the London congestion charge into disrepute." "Those of us who have seen Macmillan nurses work at first hand, helping terminally ill cancer patients, know how absolutely invaluable they are." "The Mayor seems to be saying that people who do caring work in the voluntary sector are less valuable than government employees, which is ridiculous".
