Abolish Student Tuition Fees

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 2nd Oct 2002

Last Friday (27th) Jenny Tonge MP and Ed Davey MP attended Kingston University Freshers Fair where they helped campaign for the abolition of tuition fees at the Lib Dem stand.

During the course of the day hundreds of signatures were collected from concerned students.

Jenny Tonge MP said : “I was delighted with the response. Education is a basic right, and all should be entitled to it. The present system will result in cash strapped students graduating with crippling debts. I firmly believe that we should follow the example the Lib Dems have set in Scotland and abolish tuition fees altogether.”
