On Thursday 12th September Jenny Tonge MP and local Kew councillor Tony Barnett went to the Manor Road bus stop by Homebase to welcome the planned extension of the R68 bus route.

Jenny Tonge said; "I am delighted that Transport for London have finally approved the extension of the R68 bus route to Kew Retail Park. Subject to certain highway improvements at Chalkers Corner being completed, the extended route should come into effect before Christmas."

"Local Liberal Democrat campaigners in Kew including Cllr Tony Barnett, Cllr Serge Lourie, and Jill Miller have been campaigning very hard on behalf of local residents, particularly the elderly for whom this new transport link is vital."
